Facility: 380-Bed Acute Care Hospital

This 380-bed acute-care hospital offers a full range of healthcare services and is home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. The facility provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery, and comprehensive services in labor & delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency care, and diagnostic imaging. The hospital also features both inpatient and outpatient surgical services, delivering high-quality care to the Fort Pierce community.

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the full continuum of occupational therapy for an assigned group of patients. Working in close collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team, the OT performs assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides therapeutic interventions focused on helping patients achieve functional independence and improved quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the legal and ethical scope of occupational therapy practice.

  • Assess, evaluate, and document patients therapeutic and functional status to determine appropriate treatment approaches.

  • Participate in developing individualized care plans in collaboration with the physician and interdisciplinary team.

  • Deliver purposeful, skilled therapy interventions to promote functional improvement and goal achievement.

  • Monitor and document patient progress; report changes in condition and response to treatment.

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, payors, patients, and families regarding care plans and requirements.

  • Prioritize caseloads and coordinate with team members for efficient workflow and patient handoffs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy required.

  • Licensure: Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of Florida.

  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience in acute care, inpatient, or rehab settings (must be clearly stated on submittals).

Compensation

Pay Range: $32.62 $48.93 per hour (based on experience)
